Mandatory Battery Safety Notice - 2nd update
Panasonic Safety Announcement for Preventing Spontaneous Battery Ignition in its Toughbook CF-AX Series, CF-SX Series and CF-C2 Series
Further to the Safety Notice issued in April this year, we have developed a software update for the model listed above that can be downloaded directly onto the affected Laptop PC which diagnoses and controls the state of the battery to avoid ignition risk. As announced previously we will not replace the batteries in the above models.
If you have previously installed our charging control utility, we recommend that the diagnostic control software should still be downloaded as the permanent measure for avoiding ignition risk.
As previously announced, the charging control utility was provided as a temporary measure, and once the diagnostic control software is installed, the functions of the charging control utility will be overridden.
Please check whether your product is one of those affected from the chart below. If your product is affected, we request that you install our diagnostic control software at your earliest convenience.

The software will diagnose and control the state of the battery pack to optimise long term function and avoid risk of ignition.
PLEASE NOTE: Regardless of whether you have already installed the Bios Update made available on April 16, 2018, please apply the above referenced Battery Diagnosis Control software immediately.
